I have had this dear little painted recipe box for ages. Unfortunately it has a layer of grime over it’s green finish. How to clean that layer off without harming the paint or the decal turned out to be surprisingly easy.
Using clean dishcloths and a little baking soda and water, the grime was easily evicted. After it had dried thoroughly, I gave it a finish of beeswax and mineral spirits, and once again left it to dry. Then I came back and gave it a buff with another clean towel.
I am so pleased with the results, after I stuff all my mother’s recipes back inside, I may add a few more.
